THERE have been two incidents of suspected arson in the past week, one in Gulworthy and one in Callington.
Tavistock fire crew was called to a fire at the rear of the Horn of Plenty at lunchtime on Tuesday.
Tavistock sub-officer Tim Smith said the chef had done a good job in preventing further damage by putting out the fire with an extinguisher before they arrived.
It was discovered an accelerant ? probably petrol ? had been used and evidence was taken away.
Callington fire crew was called to a fire at a house in Liskeard Road, Callington at 2am on Wednesday.
They discovered an accelerant had been used.
A 31-year-old woman was rescued.
There was only minor damage to the house, mainly from smoke.
Police would welcome any information which might help them with their enquiries.
