IT was unbelievable how many relatively easy chances went begging from both sides.
On 26 minutes Argyle?s keeper Shaun Sandercock was a little fortunate not to get a red card after bringing down St Martin?s centre forward in the box.
Only the ruling by the referee that a defender on the goal line made him the last player saved his back.
A bigger let off followed, when the penalty awarded was skied miles over the crossbar by Lee Parker.
Just when it looked to be heading for a goalless draw, a jinking run and cross from Rob Sandercock in the 77th minute found Mike Vernon at the far post, who steered the ball past the St Martins keeper.
With the clock ticking away, St Martin?s staged another attack, and a second shot from Ross Parker when a save from Sandercock rebounded kindly to him, saw the ball squeeze past his dive and into the net to put the scores level.
In the 90th minute, Shaun Sandercock found himself to be the last line of defence for the fourth or fifth time and in an attempt to win the ball, made it relatively easy for sub Paul Lock to lob the ball over him as he rushed out, and into the net.
Fortunately for Okehampton nearly all the other sides in the Premier Division have dropped points, and although holding joint bottom position, a couple of wins could put them back into mid table.
On Saturday Argyle are away to Exmouth Reserves, kick off 3pm.

ARGYLE took a few minutes to find their composure with a good clearance off their own goal line in the first minute.
Argyle?s first goal was a Harris shot which bounced off the keeper. An alert Weekes appeared from nowhere to convert the chance. The second goal was set up by Weekes for Harris. Spence and Stepto made many determined runs down the wings, and the midfield of Morgan and Coleman was very effective.
The defence of Williams, Eddy, Woodhouse and Monnox is developing well, with good communication leading to fewer errors. Jackson in goal made some outstanding saves and commanded his area well, making a positive contribution to ensure a third Argyle win.
Man of the match: Matt Jackson. Next match: Re-arranged fixture away at Sandford.
