IN response to my original letter regarding tax avoidance and the new category of aggressive tax avoidance, Mr Gardner refers to scoring 'political points' and then goes on to praise our Conservative MP and manages to bestow further praise on our Conservative Chancellor of the Exchequer. No hint of any possible political point-scoring here! Mr Gardner goes on to seemingly suggest that there is a necessity for companies and individuals to reduce their tax bills in such a fashion and even includes a bid to support a pay rise for our Members of Parliament. What happened to the idea that 'we are all in this together'? Perhaps this is about 'we are all in this together' but some of us more than others! I would simply repeat my previous suggestion for a simpler and fairer taxation system for one-and-all. Robin Musgrave Bere Ferrers
