A TOTAL of 13 ?aquaboxes? containing water purifying equipment and various survival items have been put together by local schools to be stored for immediate use in a disaster situation. Nine schools got involved in the project, organised by the Tavistock Rotary Club, and the aquaboxes were collected at Kelly College. Schools taking part were Gulworthy, Kelly College, Lamerton, Mary Tavy, Milton Abbot, St Rumon?s, St Peter?s, Tavistock Primary and Whitchurch.

Rotary spokesman David Glover said the boxes would be stored at a warehouse to be sent anywhere around the world in response to disasters. These latest boxes will replace ones recently dispatched.

?Every box has its own number and when it is sent off it can be traced so that the school can find out what happened and what purpose it served,? he said.
