SANDRA Callaghan of April Cottage B&B in Tavistock has raised £1,000 for Gabriella Hope, a local seven-year-old girl who suffers from cerebral palsy.
The money was raised by several raffles, auctions, donations and a coffee morning held at April Cottage B&B in June, which was supported by friends, family and members of Tavistock Slimming World.
Sandra expressed thanks to everyone who helped out and supported.
Sandra said: ‘I started fundraising with the lovely ladies at Slimming World back at christmas by hosting special lunches.
‘Our coffee morning alone raised £538! We sold coffee, had a cake stall and around 32 people attended.
‘When I met Gabriella she was such a lovely girl and I hope we continue to raise as much money as possible to help her and her family.’
Gabriella recently visited April Cottage B&B with her grandmother Margaret Powell.
She was presented with a £1,000 cheque, along with a hand crocheted blanket made by local 95-year-old woman Georgette Miller.
The money will go towards funding new facilities for Gabriella. Her dearest wish is to have a sink and mirror that can vary in height to her wheelchair, however, funds are still needed to achieve this.
If you wish to donate then contact Sandra on 01822 613280 or pop into the Times office on Brook Street.
