FOURTH form pupils at Mount House School have started the new term by investigating the impact that the widespread burning of fossil fuels is having on the environment by conducting trials in the school science laboratories.
The children have been designing wind turbines, making them out of simple materials – card, sellotape, paper-clips and pencils — and using them to lift a small load.
The winning design, by Edward Fitzgerald easily lifted the load to a height of 30 centimetres.
