POLICE are appealing for information, after a 79-year-old man died following a road traffic collision on the A30 at Sourton last Wednesday.

Police say around 2.45pm a Volvo XC car was involved in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle.

The Volvo was travelling westbound on the A30 when for unknown reasons it collided with the HGV which was parked in a protected layby.

A police spokesman said: 'The driver of the Volvo, who was from the Bristol area, was declared dead at the scene.

'The 55-year-old driver of the HGV suffered minor injuries.

'Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have been travelling on the A30 at the time.'
