POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious traffic accident near Jacobstow last Thursday.

The incident occurred at approximately 6.30pm on October 8, and involved a single vehicle crash on the B3216.

A police spokesman said: 'Four teenagers were in the car, a red MG. The driver, an 18-year-old man, was airlifted to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital before being transferred to Derriford with serious injuries.'

The spokesman said two of the passengers, both teenage girls, received minor injuries while a third passenger, a 19-year-old woman, was taken to hospital in Exeter with serious injuries.

The road was closed while an investigation took place. It re-opened around 1am.
