POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an alleged incident involving a fire appliance travelling between Gunnislake and Tavistock last Friday morning. The fire service vehicle was on its way to an incident at 7.10am on the A390 near Lumburn Bends when it is alleged it caused the driver of an oncoming vehicle to break severely. Although there was no contact, the driver of the oncoming vehicle, a 28-year-old local woman, suffered injury. Anyone who witnessed the alleged incident or the events leading up to it is asked to contact MPC Paul Thompson at Plymouth Traffic on 08452 777444, quoting police reference 425 11/03/05.
