OXFAM Bookshop in Tavistock is building up a selection of large print books to sell, and is appealing for anyone who may have any large print books they no longer need to donate them. Val Sharpe, manager of the bookshop, said large print books were often requested. She said: 'We get regular requests from customers for large print books and in general we do not have a great supply of them and they get a bit lost in the main shop amongst all the others. 'We have decided to focus on sourcing as many as we can to build up this supply and help our customers. 'In the short term we will hold these in the back room, so anyone interested just needs to ask to see them — there will be a notice in the shop about this too.' Anyone with large print books they want to donate can drop them into the shop. Val also offered a reminder to all donors to Oxfam that until the end of March, all sales of donated goods through Oxfam shops will be matched pound for pound by the Department of International Development, as part of its support to Oxfam's 'Lift Lives for Good' campaign. Val said: 'The more donations that are received at either Oxfam shop in Tavistock, the more that can be sold and the more funds that can then be raised, and doubled! 'The community of Tavistock and the surrounding villages has always shown tremendous support for Oxfam locally, and this is an opportunity to make this support even more valuable.' The shop now has a Facebook page which can be viewed at http://www.facebook.com/OxfamBookshopTavistock">www.facebook.com/OxfamBookshopTavistock
