POLICE in Tavistock this week issued an urgent appeal for witnesses, following a sexual assault in the Meadows last Friday. Police say a female was attacked at around 1am in the children?s play area ? it is believed two offenders were involved. Sgt Richard Nettleship said although it was dark, someone may have heard the incident. He is appealing for anyone passing through the Meadows at the time, particularly anyone walking a dog, to contact them urgently. Sgt Nettleship said: ?This was a dreadful incident which has deeply affected the victim. We must speak to anyone who was in the park on Thursday night-Friday morning to help us piece together what happened.?
