TAVISTOCK police are appealing for information about three incidents in the town on Saturday, including a sexual assault. At 11am a woman was waiting for a friend at Court Gate arch when a male approached her and started to make conversation. He grabbed her arms and pushed her into the wall and kissed her. The woman managed to slip away. The man was described as white, in his mid 20s, of stocky build, with short, dark hair and wearing a dark blue coat. He had quite crooked teeth and a distinctive gap between his two front teeth. The woman returned to the area a short time later with a friend but the man was no longer there. Police said this was a busy time with people coming and going through the arch and someone may have witnessed the incident. If anyone did or was approached by this man, who gave his name as 'Timmy' , they should contact PC Colin Taylor on 08452 777444, quoting crime number JT/07/245. A youth threatened another with a broken bottle on the first floor of the Somerfield Car Park at 5pm but police do not know what the dispute was about. The youth with the bottle was described as about 18, 5ft 7ins to 5ft 8ins tall, with black hair, chubby cheeks and wearing a black hat and black jogging bottoms. Police believe shoppers may have seen something at the time and are expecting CCTV footage from a neighbouring premises. The crime number is JT/07/244. Criminal damage amounting to £100 was caused to a vehicle outside Jack and Jill's in West Street at 8.30pm when a pedestrian kicked the panel as it drove past. The male was described as white, 6ft tall, in his late 20s with a dark or tanned complexion. He was clean shaven, of medium build and with close cropped hair. He wore a dark blue coat and was seen walking off in the company of a female. The crime number is JT/07/248.
