POLICE are appealing for witnesses, following an assault on a 17-year-old male in Callington on New Year's Day.

The victim, who lives in the town, suffered grazes, sprains and a swollen knee after three men spoke to him before punching him. The incident happened at around 2.45pm as he walked along an isolated path near Portmellon Gardens in the town.

The three suspects are aged 18 to 19. Anyone who witnessed the assault or who may have any information is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting crime reference number BN/13/5.
