Only the hardiest cyclists ventured out in the pouring rain last Thursday evening to take part in the Okehampton Cycling Club Summer time trial series. In fact only six took part who rode the 10 mile course which traces the old A30 road from Bridestowe to Lewdown and back.

The two riders vying for the top spot on the overall points leaders board Andy Retter and Mike Cory participated with Andy taking the honours with a time of 26 minutes, 56 seconds. Both Andy and Mike are tying for the top spot with 74 points each. The youngest members of the club also braved the elements and top marks to them for making the effort in very soggy conditions.

Full Results: A Retter, 26.56; M Cory, 28.11; A Bellew, 30.23; R Yells, 32.11; B Kirwin, 34.46; R Windermere, 34.54.

Last Sunday also saw a good turn out of members for the St Budeaux (Plymouth) Cycle Club 15.6 mile time trial at Kelly Bray.
