MR D Gregory (Letters, November 30) is not alone in noticing that the Police Desk is reporting less petty crime and I hope that this is a true reflection, although any connection with speed cameras is tenuous and doubtful.

One aspect of Police Desk that is rather irritating is the repeated emphasis on 'insecure outbuildings' with no reference to their being in a virtually 'un-policed' area.
