JEAN Tyler has spent the last half century in Great Torrington and has always 'scribbled'.
It is only since the death of her husband 17 years ago, when she was persuaded to join the encouraging 'First Thursday Writers' Group' at The Plough, that she has gone into print.
She has been surprised and delighted that her four poetry collections have found favour locally and further afield. Her work is accessible and traverses a whole gamut of emotions.
Jean appears at The Plough, Torrington on Sunday November 23 at 7.30pm.
All tickets £10.
Proceeds to be shared between El Shaddai Street Child Rescue, and St Michael's and All Angels' Tower Development Appeal, with both of which she has close personal connections.
Box office: 01805 624624.
