IT has been a good month for the silver division ladies of Okehampton Golf Club.

Amanda Clifford and Marcia Jones won the final of the County Vets Knock-Out competition, beating Teignmouth 5 and 4 at Staddon Heights. They will receive the cup at the County annual meeting.

The county scratch team tied with Woodbury at the top of their division, 391/2 points each. They will now meet each other in the semi-finals and finals to be held at Dainton Park on September 15.

The August par competition was won by Pam Jarman, second was Joan Essex and third was Mo Huggins. The stableford competition was a high scoring event with three tying in first place on 36 points. The positions were decided on the back nine. First was Joan Essex, second Kath Mansell and third Val Roberts.

The ladies have also played two friendly matches against Woolacombe and Mortehoe and Torrington and won both.

l At Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday a four ball better ball medal was played for the Charles Pedrick shield.

Results ? Division 1: 1, D Keir and K Cornwall net 60, winning on last 9 and winners of the Charles Pedrick Shield; 2, G Holt and H Penna net 60 winning on last 6; 3, G James and R Pedrick net 60 winning on last 9.

Division 2 ? M Denning and B Gunn net 61 winning on last 9; 2, C Ball and R Weller net 61; 3, H Butters and T Coombes net 62 winning on last 6.
