THE Allsorts are winners of the TACRA Sport Summer League after PD Drilling forfeited the match. It marks a great achievement by a team that came fifth in the debut season.
A great team effort throughout the season by manager Jason Clancey, Chris Short, Richard Searle, Alex Ross, Sam Sharland and goalkeeper Richard Allen saw the youthful team walk away with the trophy.
In the evening's matches, PD Drilling beat Five Bellies 5-3 with their goals coming from Rob Hawkins (3) and Martin Gadon (2). Fat Boy Slim Utd lost 3-0 against Ocean Colour team who scored through Simon Johnson (2) and Glen Martin.
The Ordulph Arms, playing their first game of the season, drew 3-3 with Red & Black. Ordulph's scorers were Rich Hoskins and Danny Follett (2). Craig Smith and Chris Abbott (2) scored the Red & Black's goals.
The Blue Army kept up their winning ways with a 7-3 victory over Greenway Dynamos. Steve Wickett scored his fifth hat-trick in four games. Ben Rushall and Nick Mier also hit two each. Greenway replied through manager Andy Faulkner, Mark Faulkner and Andy Mudge. The Blue & Blacks are yet to let in a goal with keeper and manager Nigel Martin in fine form. They defeated Stormers 6-0 with goals from Alex Ross (2), Chris Short (2), Garry Foster and Dan Brockington.
