A LIST of councillors' allowances have been published for Cornwall covering the period from April, 2009 to March 31, 2010.
Cllr Russell Bartlett, representing Gunnislake, received a basic allowance of £10,026.52, a special responsibility payment (for chairing a county panel) of £458.99, a subsistence allowance of £53.57 and a travel payment of £1,441.45.
Stoke Climsland member Neil Burden received a basic allowance of £12,159.50, a special responsibility payment of £15,037.01 as a Cabinet member for Children's services, a subsistence payment of £997.97 and a travel payment of £8,045.67.
Cllr Jim Flashman who has been a member since June '09 and represents a number of parishes including Kelly Bray and Harrowbarrow, received a basic allowance of £9,837, a special responsibility payment of £1,789.38, a subsistence payment of £84.10 and a travel payment of £2,887.94.
Cllr Andrew Long who has also been a member since June '09 and represents Callington received a basic allowance of £9,837.43, a subsistence payment of £148.29 and a travel payment of £1,802.
During this time Cllr Long said he attended 48 meetings of the council across Cornwall with an attendance record of 92%. From April 1 this year, when he left full time employment to concentrate on council work, until November 30 he attended 74 meetings with an attendance record of 93%.
'Obviously the subsistence and travel payment does not include the numerous meetings in relation to the division casework,' he said.
'I have dealt with a total of 56 items of casework in the year to March 31 and since then have been or am dealing with an additional 86 items of casework.'
