MEMBERS of the public are being invited to an open day at Tavistock Town Hall this Saturday (January 22), to learn what the building has to offer and give visitors an opportunity to talk with the mayor and councillors about the town's future.
The open day will provide information about the town hall and its uses and will also provide a platform for ideas to enhance the town, both from the council and for members of the public to give suggestions.
There will be a presentation of the five year strategic plan that Tavistock Town Council has for the town, and a presentation of ideas for the future of the area around the pannier market, both of which will welcome feedback and other ideas from visitors.
Representatives of the market, the town council's works department and possibly Tavistock College and the chamber of commerce, will be present at the open day, as well as various groups which regularly use the town hall.
Free tea and coffee will be available along with tours of the town hall for those who wish, including the Rundle Room and the Mayor's Parlour.
The open day will run from 10am to 3pm — all are very welcome to attend.
