A CALL has gone out to parents and toddlers to take part in a Pushchair Push in South Zeal on April 17.

South Zeal Methodist Church is the starting point for the fundraising event which begins at 10.30am and lasts about an hour. Tea and biscuits will be available at the finishing line.

Sponsorship forms can be obtained from the Maid Marion Stores or The Stores in South Zeal or by contacting 01837 840130.

Favourite pushchairs, prams or trolleys can be taken along but pushchairs can also be provided if necessary. Anyone wishing to walk the route without children can also join in.

Funds from the Pushchair Push will go towards a £15,000 toddler area in South Zeal Recreation Ground. The project was recently awarded £5,000 of National Lottery cash from the 'Awards for All' scheme and needs £5,000 more to reach its target. It is hoped the new play area will be in place for the summer.
