SINGERS in Tavistock are being invited to join in with a singing workshop next month, arranged by the Tapestry Community Choir.
Anyone who can sing, think they can sing, are not sure but wants to have a go, can join the Tapestry Community Choir workshop on Sunday November 6, led by Yvette Staelens, a singing workshop leader from Somerset.
Yvette runs several of her own community choirs in Somerset and regularly leads workshops. She is a natural voice practitioner where people learn by ear, so there is no need to read music or have any other particular previous experience, men, women and children can just turn up and sing.
Tapestry Community Choir are a Tavistock-based choir led by Rob Shepherd, who have been meeting and singing for around five years. The choir sings carols every year at Dickensian Evening and this year a new challenge for them will be singing carols at Cotehele on November 26.
The workshop will run from 10.30am to 4pm at Melvin Hall, Kelly College. It is £10 to take part and Yvette can work with up to 80 voices.
