Tavistock Colts 12 Camborne Colts 12 A STRONG Camborne side came to Sandy Park having won 12 of their 14 fixtures this season. In greasy conditions which made passing and catching difficult, Tavistock matched them in all aspects of play. The visitors opened the scoring with a try down the left wing, but Tavistock levelled with a converted try after Danny Thompson broke through the midfield and stood his full back up to put Tom Vanstone away for a try. Tavistock retook the lead immediately after the start of the second half when centre Dave Goodspeed broke through after lineout ball on the halfway line to power through to touch down under the posts for Vanstone to convert. Camborne came back strongly and levelled with a try from a crash ball through their centre. Tavistock had to defend vigorously for most of the second half but could have clinched it late in the game as the tiring Camborne forwards conceded territory No 8 Tom Friend was man of the match after an all action display highlighted by a series of bone crunching tackles.
