MEMBERS of Callington Methodist Church and Tamar Valley Knit and Natter have knitted all the characters for this year's 'Knitivity Hunt', organised by new youth and family worker Morag Stolton.
One set of knitted nativity characters (pictured above) have scattered themselves around the shops in Callington, ready to be found so that they can be brought together before Christmas day.
People who would like to take part can collect Knitivity Hunt sheets from Cornerstone Fair-trade shop. To join in, journey through Callington searching the shop windows for the characters and return the completed forms to Cornerstone for a prize.
There are also some tenuous links between the characters and their chosen shops and participants are challenged to see of they can find them.
Characters will be in the shops from Saturday, December 1 until Saturday December 15.
A second set of characters will be going to Delaware and Gunnislake Primary Schools. Each character will go home with the pupils, who will keep a diary of their journey during the period of advent.
Their final destination will be at the carol service on Wednesday, December 19 at the Tamar Valley Methodist Church.
Morag said: 'I wanted to do something that allowed the church, local traders and the community of all ages to come together in celebrating Christmas.
'These wonderful knitted nativities bring a smile to your face but also reminds us of the Christian message behind the festivities of the season.'
