THERE will be games galore in Peter Tavy on Bank Holiday Monday at the annual traditional village fayre.

A coconut shy, skittles and duck race will entertain children and adults alike, as well as stalls selling everything from home-made cakes and jams to garden produce and plants.

The Dartmoor Teddy Bears Dangerous Sports Association will offer an opportunity for cuddly toys to experience the thrills of a high-adrenalin adventure.

More athletic visitors can take part in the annual Peter Tavy Plod and Fun Run. The plod covers a five-mile course and costs £4 to take part. Younger competitors can take part in the 1.5-mile fun run for £2.

The fayre will end with a pasties and quiz evening in the village hall.

The fayre takes place on Monday August 30 at the village hall and chapel grounds from 2.30pm. The Peter Tavy Plod and fun run sets off from the village square at 3pm. Registration starts at 2pm. For more details contact Dave Chanter on 01822 810598.
