PREPARATION for the forthcoming rugby season is moving up a gear both on and off the field.
As the team is hard in training, the refurbishment of Okehampton Rugby Football Club's clubhouse is also well underway and on schedule to be completed in time for the start of the new season.
The refurbishment, which has been funded by a generous grant from Okehampton United Charity as well as sponsors and other donations, will include new shower facilities and a new kitchen alongside new furniture, flooring and decoration.
A statement from the rugby club said: 'We are delighted with the work taking place and would like to extend our thanks to everyone who has contributed to the project.
'We look forward to seeing you at the clubhouse during the coming season to make the most of our fantastic new facilities.'
The rugby club are also hosting their annual fun day this Sunday (August 24) with a car boot sale from noon, fun events starting at 2pm and a disco and hog roast from 6pm.
