THE Lambs' nine-match unbeaten run came to an end at Langsford park last Tuesday week when the efforts of two hard fought games in three days took its toll.
Both sides cancelled out each other in the first half. The nearest the Lambs came was when Jeff Babb attempted to chip the keeper. West brought off a good save but Babb was offside.
Tavistock were fortunate not to go behind five minutes into the second half when Simon Courts blasted over but could have taken the lead minutes later when Craig Hodge headed over a Chris Gott corner.
It took a good move to crack open the Lambs defence and send a shot past an unsighted Andy Meeds.
The Lambs almost snatched the equaliser with five minutes left when substitute Pate Tiffney's shot went wide of West but the wrong side of the upright.
It had been a good run by the Lambs that had extended back to late December.
This Saturday away to Newquay, kick-off 3pm.

TAVISTOCK booked their second cup semi-final in successive Saturdays with this convincing victory over division one opponents.
The visitors did well to contain the Lambs to just a single goal lead at half-time as build ups filtered out in the last third of the field.
It took over half an hour to break the deadlock. Jeff Babb sent Darren Halfyard down the wing and his centre was headed towards goal by Pete Gibson. Appeals for handball went up but play continued and as the ball returned into the area Babb sent in a low shot through a cluster of players to beat the keeper.
Tavistock came out for the second half and within eight minutes increased their lead. Babb's back heel at the corner flag allowed Halfyard to cross first time and Gibson rose at the near post to head past the keeper.
The tie was completely wrapped up between the 69th and 72nd minutes as the Lambs leapt and bounced through a 'static' defence. First Babb headed home a Richard Cameron corner then the substitute with his first touch received a Cameron pass to cut inside and shoot low.
The nap hand arrived shortly afterwards when Babb again did the difficult part to put the pressure on the keeper and as he dropped the ball, Rob Hawkins pounced to score from close range.
