TAVISTOCK struggled to raise a side for this match but the 16 who played took a lot of credit against a side that had some South West Academy U18s playing.
The tackle count by the home side was impressive but the constant runs of the Crediton three-quarters took their toll. Jed Bolt pulled off a series of text book tackles against their strike runners, with Will Branfield showing his fitness and getting involved in everything.
Despite being well behind, Tavistock picked up the intensity and, after putting six phases of possession together, finally crossed the line when Gorman powered over from close range.
The try of the match summed up the commitment of the Tavistock side when centre Simon Braithewaite charged down a kick ahead on the half way line, pressured the full back into an error and dribbled the ball for over 30 metres to beat the defence to the touch down.
New face Sam Henderson looked good and beat his first up defender numerous times. Tim Morris, another new face on the wing, looked to enjoy his first game.
Props Whitehead and Child enjoyed the hard work and stood out in the rucks while skipper Mark Wheatley led by example all game.
Tom Vanstone nailed both conversions.
