WARTIME artefacts, maps and photos of Harrowbeer Airfield drew a large number of visitors to Buckland Monachorum village hall last Saturday. Harrowbeer Interest Group displayed memorabilia of the airfield and encouraged those with memories to write them down. Member Stephen Fryer said that despite people initially saying they could not remember much, inevitably they went on to give some little gem of information. The group?s next event is a guided walk around the remains of the airfield on Sunday, April 24, followed by a cream tea in Buckland Monachorum village hall. Book in advance, as places are limited. Tickets are £3 adult, £1.50 child, including refreshments, and can be reserved on 01822 855336. All proceeds go to the village hall kitchen fund. The group is still keen to hear from any airfield ground or administration staff or aircrew who flew from the airfield. Anyone with any information can either contact Bernie Steed on 01822 853397 or visit the website http://www.rafharrowbeer.co.uk">www.rafharrowbeer.co.uk
