NEW learning aids worth £1,300 have been delivered to Okehampton Primary School thanks to fundraising from the PTFA.
Wall charts, teachers' handbooks and audio tapes are among the items the school has acquired under the TRASS scheme (Teaching, Handwriting, Reading and Spelling Skills).
The PTFA raised the money through the summer fair last year which included a visit from a Tudor re-enactment group, the Christmas Fair and bingo nights.
Headteacher of the school Brian Cunningham said the money raised to buy these additional resources, which would encourage children's comprehensive skills, was fantastic but it was just a fraction of the thousands of pounds raised by the PTFA each year.
The playgroup equipment, numeracy aids and swimming sessions are some of the things paid for by the organisation.
