A HORRABRIDGE man who raised £8,000 six years ago to buy and kit out a Land Rover for mine clearance work in Bosnia is going back to the country on another aid mission.

Photojournalist Ian Robinson led an aid convoy to the market town of Livno in 2002 and at the end of this month he plans to return with food and winter clothing for elderly villagers who are returning to war-torn dwellings.

This trip will give Mr Robinson a chance to see how the Land Rover is faring, deliver some replacement parts and further highlight the difficult task of the Bosnian de-miners facing years of clearance work after the bitter ethnic fighting of the 1990s.

On Goose Fair day (October 8) he will be outside Morrisons in Tavistock collecting donated items like rice, pasta, flour, tinned fish, toiletries and warm winter clothing — hats, coats, boots and blankets.

Several local businesses have supported the return trip to Livno where Mr Robinson will be joined by Tavistock's Acoustic Café founder Jeff Sleeman.
