ON behalf of Sourton Church and Parish Hall committees, I would like to thank everybody who supported our country fayre. We were well entertained by the Future Generation singers, Holsworthy Majorettes, Brian Higbee and the Bridestowe and Sourton Follies. Bridestowe School and Pre-School put on an excellent display of paintings in the art competition. The teddy bears parachuted from the church tower caused a great deal of amusement and the face painting and duck fishing were also fun. The stallholders all worked hard and the teddies in the kitchen did a roaring trade in cream teas. There were numerous prizes in the grand draw. It was an afternoon of fun for all the family and £1,150 was raised which will be divided between the church and the village hall. Many thanks to everyone for making it a happy event. Cream teas will be served on the last Sunday in July and each Sunday in August. Do come and join us! Rose Fogerty
