TRUSTEE for Devon Aid Korogwe Vivien England recently returned from a trip to Tanzania and told visitors at the show about her adventures.

The charity had a stand at the show displaying their work into providing clean water for communities in the Korogwe district of the country, and in turn helping relieve sickness and distress.

Vivien was enjoying the opportunity to discuss the charity's work despite the damp start to the day: 'The show day has been good so far. The morning weather was not so good — we had to hang on to our tent several times to stop it blowing away, but it has been a good morning.

'We have recently got back from a five week visit to Tanzania helping to build a well. As a charity we aim to help people help themselves — we give them the resources to help themselves.

'It's really quite moving, and it was fantastic. It followed another five week visit we had earlier in the year. To have spent ten weeks in the country helping out is outstanding.'

Vivien was also busy promoting the charity's next fundraising event, the Home Brew Country Dance Band concert at Bratton Clovelly Parish Hall, on September 17.
