OKEHAMPTON Town Council has granted £1,164 to the town's Citizens' Advice Bureau.
At a meeting of the council's policy and resources committee last week, members voted to grant the money which will go towards the CAB's rent of its offices at the Ockment Centre.
Kay Bickley, the Mayor of Okehampton, told members: 'I feel that the Citizens' Advice Bureau is doing far more work this year, particularly on debt issues, and we should support them in recognition of the increase in their work load.
Councillor Christine Marsh proposed that the committee should give £1,000 plus the residue of £164 that was left in the grant budget.
