THERE was no watching the Royal Wedding on Friday for Tavistock runner Adam Holland.

The prolific runner instead was competing in the Royal Berkshire Marathon - a track marathon of 105 laps plus 195m at the Crookham Common Athletics Track.

Adam said: 'It was great to do another track marathon and also meet up with runners I've not seen for some time. There were four other people there that had done the 10 marathons in 10 days who were doing this event.  The winning woman was Natasha Doyle in a time of 3hrs 28mins 19secs; first man was Michael Arnstein from the United States in a superb 2.32.49. Adam finished in second place in 2.38.31.

n On Sunday he was happy to start the Bere Pen 10k, but not long after the start he got to run as part of his training. Adam finish fourth in 38.29sec. Adam said it was great to be asked to start the races and give out the winner prizes and looks forward to the event next year.
