AFTER just completing his 100th marathons, Tavistock Athletic Club member Adam Holland took part in this first 'track marathon.

Adam competed in the MK Engima Track Marathon at Milton Keynes, Buckingham on Saturday in a bid to do the event in a personal best time.

His previous best was the Robin Hood Marathon in 2hrs 49mins 30secs and his aim was to get as close to 2hrs 40min, which meant he would have to run 1min 30sec a lap to break that time.

Adam ran the first lap in 1min 18sec but lapping the person at the back with in 450m of starting the run. About five laps in Adam got into the pace of doing 1min 30sec a lap.

He said: 'It is odd passing the same people over and over, but at least I can't get lost on a track.'

Adam finished first place, in a super time of 2h 37m 00s.

He thanked David Baylay for putting on such a great event.
