THE Amateur Swimming Association National Age Group Championships took place at Sheffield with the best age group swimmers in Britain competing for top spot. Adam John who lives in Tavistock and swims for Plymouth Leander had just missed out on the medals in both 2003 and 2004. This year Adam was in determined mood and became the fastest Brit of all time in his age group to lift the National title in record time, not only winning the gold medal in the 13 and under 200m backstroke, but also taking the British and English age group record by over two seconds. However not content with one medal he won a silver in the 100m backstroke and bronze in the 400m individual medley. Following these results Adam has already been selected to attend a British World Class camp which is to take place in Palma Majorca.
