TWO of Tavistock's well know runners took up the challenge of the Bovey Tracey Half Marathon.

The event is run over an undulating road route through lovely countryside in and around Bovey Tracey.

Tavistock Athletic Club members Adam Holland and Peter Bazley both had a great time running in the event, with Peter winning the veteran 55 class in 1hr 24mins 35secs while Adam went on to win the event in a time of 1.18.06sec.

Adam and Peter have a busy month coming up with the Duckponds 7k, Tavistock five miles, the Tavy Town Relays, the Chudleigh Carnival 6, Haytor Heller and the Magnificent Seven.

Adam would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has asked he if he has been nominated to be an Olympic Torchbearer — he told the Times that he is proud that people are thinking of him for this honour.
