ANYONE with dreams of gliding down the catwalk or seeing their own designs on show should make a date for the annual Sticklepath Fashion Show — being held on Saturday, September 2.

This is the fifth year the show has been held — and this year's event has attracted funding from the Millennium Festival Awards for All.

Workshops will be held between Tuesday August 29 and Friday September 1, when garments and accessories to be worn on the day itself will be made.

Hilary Gillespie, event organiser, said: 'Absolutely anybody can come — we've got three-year-olds to 90-year-olds taking part, and it's for all abilities.

'If anyone would like to come along and help at the workshops, they would be welcome as well.'

In addition to clothes, there will be the chance to create collages, puppets and wall hangings to set the scene in the marquee, which will be erected on Finch Foundry Field.

There are several different categories to enter — 'Inspired by the Sea', 'Futuristic', 'Tasty Little Morsel' and the more usual evening and daywear sections.

And for those who cannot tell one end of a sewing machine from another, how about the 'Garment made from Waste' section.

Workshop fees for Sticklepath Fashion Show cost £2 per day.

Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. For more details or to register please contact Hilary Gillespie on 01837 840 334.
