A YOUNG West Devon girl and her calf were positioned in the top five of a category for the recent Liskeard Show.

Nine year old Abi Mortlock from Bridestowe was awarded fifth place out of seven with her six-week old calf Greenway Colleen, in the young handler's category of the show.

Abi's mother Tracy said: 'This was her first time handling and she was so pleased with how she did.

'A friend of ours has cows and he asked Abi if she wanted to take part in the show. With his support, she went ahead and did it.'
