THE COMPANY which brought cinema back to Okehampton is now bringing a professional musical show from the West End to the Charter Hall later this month. Merlin Cinemas has booked ?a show of two halves? consisting of an Abba tribute So Abba and So Hand Jive which is a mix of songs from the 1950s and the hit movie Grease. The event will take place on August 25 at 7.30pm and tickets, priced at £10, are available from the New Charter Cinema box office by telephone (01837 658586) or in person. Head office manager of Merlin Cinemas Greg Adams said he hoped this would be the first of many theatre or music shows in the Charter Hall arranged by the company: ?We have a 600 seat theatre in Redruth where we have events like this and we would like to bring these shows to Okehampton for a second night in the Westcountry,? he said. Merlin transformed Okehampton?s Market Hall into a cinema venue last year.
