WORK to resurface and repair sections of the A30 between Exeter and Sourton, near Okehampton is due to take place in September.

The main carriageway and westbound exit and eastbound entry sliproads will be resurfaced and repaired at the Woodleigh junction over four nights from Monday September 7 to the morning of Friday September 11.

The work will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am the following day to reduce inconvenience.

Clearly signed diversion routes will be in operation during the overnight closures of the slip roads.

Westbound exit slip closure — traffic will remain on the main A30 westbound carriageway until the A30 Whiddon Down junction where it will exit via the Whiddon Down westbound exit slip.

The traffic will then rejoin the A30 eastbound and continue until it reaches the A30 Woodleigh Junction where it will exit at the eastbound exit slip.

Eastbound entry slip closure — traffic will join the A30 main carriageway westbound and follow it until A30 Whiddon Down where it will exit and rejoin the A30 eastbound.

Westbound entry slip closure — traffic will remain on the county road (C50) and follow this road through Cheriton Bishop, Crockernwell and rejoin the A30 westbound at Whiddon Down.

The westbound exit slip road at Sourton will be resurfaced and laid with anti-skid surfacing over two nights on Monday and Tuesday September 14-15.

The work will take place between 8pm and 6am the following morning to reduce inconvenience.

It will be necessary to close the sliproad during the night. A signed diversion will be in operation. Drivers wishing to exit at the Sourton junction will be directed to exit at the Stowford westbound exit slip road and rejoin the main A30 eastbound. Traffic will then exit the A30 at Sourton eastbound exit slip road.
