IT'S time to get the thinking caps on as the Lions Club of Callington is holding a charity curry and quiz night.

The event, on January 12 from 7pm, is in support of two local men taking part in the Cape to Cape challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The challenge, the tenth of its kind, will see Terry Bolt from Callington and Jeff Hearn from Cox Park drive in a 1950 MGTD from Cabo da Roca to Cape Cornwall, along with 35 other crews.

Terry and Jeff brought back the trophy after their drive in April this year, raising more money for Macmillan Cancer Support than any of the other 43 crews.

Their target for 2013 is £5,000 which will be raised mainly through local events together with corporate and individual sponsorship.

The Lions Club is hoping to help towards the total with the curry and quiz night in Callington Town Hall.

Teams of four to six people can enter the quiz, and tickets are £6.50 per person. Tickets are available from Kivells or from Callington Town Hall, 0845 8337527.
