Okehampton Ladies 6
Galmpton Ladies 1
ALTHOUGH Okehampton ladies football team fielded the same players as last week, it looked from the start a different side.
An early goal from Michelle Vaughan set the ladies up for a deserved home victory. Hayley Vincent then put a well-timed ball through to Michelle for her second goal.
Okehampton defenders Ceri Chapman, the Burdus twins and Kate Shannon pushed play back down to the other end. Before half-time Sarah Rew headed the ball to Michelle who scored from outside the box with a superb lob.
Not long into the second half Galmpton managed to get a goal back, but Okehampton rallied and Kelly Cooper, after an excellent run, scored her first league goal.
Kerry Drew, along with the rest of the midfield, battled well, contributing to Okehampton's fifth.
Another new player to the squad, Karen Fuell, was already having a great game when she scored with a long-range shot. Sarah Rew then threaded the ball through to Kelly who scored her second.
Manager's player goes to Michelle Vaughan, who despite only playing for 45 minutes, netted a hat trick.
Next game Brixham at home September 30.
