A WEST Devon campsite has won its second award for 2012, at the Visit Devon Awards ceremony, held at the Saunton Sands Hotel, near Barnstaple last week.
First time entrants to the competition, The Old Rectory Caravan and Camping Park in Gulworthy, were presented with the silver award in the holiday park of the year category.
In just a short time, the derelict and abandoned campsite has been transformed into a warm and friendly holiday destination for all ages, suitable for caravans, campers, and glampers.
Owners Len and Sheila Scott are delighted with the result, and say they are honored to be recognised with such a significant award:
The couple said: 'We have built this park from a shell, into something really special.
It's only small, but that is the charm, and the place has a wonderful relaxed feel for all.
'We are lucky to live and work in such a beautiful area as the Tamar Valley, and Dartmoor.'
