FORMER students of Tavistock Grammar School, the '51-ers', held a special gathering recently, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of their arrival at the school.
The 40 ex-students and their spouses met for lunch at the Dartmoor Inn, Merrivale, to exchange their memories and their experiences since entering their chosen careers.
Of the 40 attendees, 27 were ex-pupils and their form teacher Miss Walker.
Unfortunately two ex-students could not attend due to illness and another two were nursing ill partners.
Many of the former students went to considerable lengths to attend the re-union.
Michael German and his wife came down from Surrey, sacrificing their intended holiday in Scotland.
Jennifer (Woodford) Robson journeyed from London and several, although initially unable to attend, managed to adjust their social commitments at the last moment to put in an appearance.
Organisers of the re-union expressed thanks to all those who were able to attend.
