A CALIFORNIAN imported bike worth almost £700 has been donated to the Sue Ryder shop in Tavistock.

A gentleman who worked in hospice homes on Sue Ryder estates has donated many eclectic items to the shop but this bike has caused a stir with both staff and volunteers at the shop.

Wendy Peters, the shop manager at Sue Ryder, said that for the people of Tavistock to benefit from the item she has started an auction — and currently the highest bid is £400.

‘The bike is called an Indy 3i men’s/red/3-speed from the Electra Company and retails at £675. I feel it is important to keep it in Tavistock and I would really like people to place a bid.’

The auction will end on June 30.
