CHILDREN in Hatherleigh will be presented with specially produced plates to celebrate the millennium on February 19.
Parents in the town have been asked to register their children if they were born between January 1, 1984 and December 31, 1999 inclusive.
So far 240 children have been registered for free plates. The remainder of the 500 that have been produced will be sold at £7.50 each.
The plates, which are Hatherleigh Town Council's main millennium project costing around £3,000, are white bone china with a gold edge and include the words 'Hatherleigh Millennium 2000'.
The Old Schools in Hatherleigh Square will be the venue for the presentation by the mayor between 2.30pm and 4.30pm on February 19.
