A FORMER Tavistock College student received national recognition for her work in her last year at the college.
Nicole Murray was a Year 13 student last year, and she recently won this year's award from the British Nutrition Foundation for securing the highest mark in the country on her A-level home economics, food, nutrition and health course.
Nicole's teacher Pauline Monk, who was also singled out for praise, said: 'Nicole has a creative and imaginative flair for food work.
'For her coursework she produced an excellent Pimms and strawberry trifle and a Ploughman's pocket, both of which used British, locally sourced, produce. Nicole was a pleasure to teach and I am delighted that her talent and hard work has been recognised.'
