YOUNGSTERS and parents alike have been busy taking part in a week of literacy activities at Winkleigh Primary School.
To celebrate World Book Day on March 7, the school hosted a week of reading and activities, all linked to reading and writing. On Wednesday March 6, dads and grandads were invited to the school to take part in a range of practical activities linked to developing literacy skills.
Years 5 and 6 children spent the day making hovercrafts, while Year 3 and 4 pupils learnt about parachutes.
On World Book Day itself, children dressed up as their favourite book characters.
